Yanira Nafin Death Shooting Harris County, TX Obituary – Fatal Domestic Shooting in Harris County Leaves Woman Dead, Jose Romero Charged
Authorities have released an arrest update following a fatal shooting that occurred on May 2 in the 14200 block of Texarkana in the Cloverleaf area of Harris County.
The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Yanira Nafin. According to investigators, she was allegedly shot by her common-law husband, Jose Arquimides Romero (born January 8, 1983).
Deputies reported that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute. Officials stated that Romero became upset after believing Nafin was not taking his back pain seriously, which investigators say escalated into the fatal shooting.
At the time of the incident, three children were inside the home. Authorities confirmed the children were not physically harmed, as they were able to hide after hearing gunfire.
Following the shooting, Romero remained at the residence and was taken into custody without incident by responding deputies.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives have since charged Romero in connection with Nafin’s death. He has been booked into the Harris County Jail, where he remains pending further legal proceedings.
